Each year some of our first year students participate in a wide variety of pre-orientation programs before diving into Bear Beginnings and the first week of classes. These programs, commonly referred to as "Pre-O's", serve as excellent ways for students to make new friends, explore Saint Louis, and familiarize themselves with the campus community.
This year, four of our very own Ervin scholars wrote for Freshman Press, a special edition of Wash U's student paper StudLife featuring articles and photos from the Class of 2020. You can view their work below!
Check out this article by Jasmine Trotter, a first year student from Theodore, Alabama. She got to spend some quality time with two of the most creative Pre-O's on campus.
Ali Gold, a native of our very own Saint Louis, Missouri, provided some excellent insight on the 'randomness' of roommate selection. You can take a look here.
Freshman Brandon Wilburn of Little Rock, Arkansas, decided to take a more visual route to journalism--take a look at one of his photos here.
And last but not least, first year student Lopaka O'Connor coming all the way from Papaikou, Hawaii, offers some notes on the Bears' football recruitment and upcoming season in his piece here.
