Ervin Scholars Program at Washington University recognizes the high academic achievement, evidence of outstanding leadership, and strong commitment to community building and diversity through service of talented students throughout the nation. It is a family of life-long learners and contributors who work to maintain the legacy of Dr. John Ervin.
John B. Ervin, a distinguished administrator and educator, believed that through education and personal integrity, one could make a contribution to the world. The Ervin Scholars Program provides exceptional educational opportunities and advising to ensure each Scholar’s success in honor of Dr. Ervin’s legacy. Ervin Scholars participate in a program designed especially for them. This includes orientation to the Ervin Program and to the University, meetings with University and community leaders, special events with other Ervin Scholars, academic support and advising, assistance in finding research and internship opportunities, and regular meetings with the Ervin Scholars Program Director and administrative staff. Ervin Scholars are also highly involved in extracurricular activities on campus and service projects in the community.
