When I visited Washington University as a high school student, I met many warm and caring Ervins and that drew me to Wash U. While a student, the financial support from the program was invaluable. I also learned from Ervins how to survive and thrive in college and outside of college, and I can pass on such lessons to others.

What are your top 2 memories of the Ervin Program?
My first Ervin retreat and the fun activities we had during the semesters.
How have the Ervin principles of diversity, service, leadership and scholarship influenced you as a person/professional?
My main desire in life is to help others daily and much of this begins with respect and appreciation of people's personalities, cultures, values, and needs. Professionally, the Ervin principles influence how I interact with my students. As an educator, I need to understand what students need and facilitate their learning in a way that is affirming, challenging, and meaningful.
